Glossary · OTIF

On-time in-full

The share of orders delivered complete and on the promised date.

Technical definition

A service metric measuring the percentage of orders delivered both on time and in full quantity.

Formula

OTIF = orders delivered on time and in full ÷ total orders

Manufacturing example

Delivering 92 of 100 orders complete and on time is 92% OTIF.

Common misconception

OTIF is not just on-time; a complete-but-late or on-time-but-short order fails OTIF.

Why it matters operationally

OTIF is a primary measure of how well operations serve customers.
